Questions and Answers
What is your favorite album by fates warning? i cant decide which one im going to buy, and i can only afford one. whats your favorite?

Troll Killah replied: "I really love "No Exit," though it isn't their commercially successful album. If you're not sure, I would go with "Chasing Time" -- a sort of best-of compilation. Good songs on that one, and a pretty good representation of the band."

Good albums to get to start listening to Fates Warning? (reposted)? No one answered this a while ago so I reposted. thanks in advance!

Sathanocracy replied: "Metallum users gave Awaken The Guardian 90%, not the highest rating, but with the most reviews, that'd make it their best album."

gnab gib replied: "I've only heard two, but I like them both. "No Exit" to me sounds a little dated, I think because of the '80s-style production. Not a bad album, though. But I really like "A Pleasant Shade of Grey." Totally epic. Lots of great shifting moods and heavy riffs and dramatic, sweeping atmosphere. Highly recommended."

Hugh Jorgan, at your Service... replied: "Hi- I've ben a fan for about 20 years, and I think their last album, FWX, is possibly their best. It's just incredible writing- one of my favorite albums by anyone. I also liked No Exit, Parallels, and Inside Out."

Dwayne D replied: "Awaken The Guardian was their best(and last) with original singer John Arch. No Exit was their heaviest and most straight forward with Ray Alder singing and my personal fave with him."

[shred] replied: "My personal favorite is Perfect Symmetry. there are some of their most epic songs on that album that are just progressive masterpieces. At Fates Hands Part Of The Machine its not by any means their heaviest its not that heavy at all but the compositions are very well thought out. With a lot of musical intellectualism. Killer drum work, awesome violin work. Great album. No Exit is my 2nd favorite but the production is awful very poorly produced but killer heavy riffs on that album start with those 2 and if you like them I well recommend more"

Does anyone know about the band, REDEMPTION? (a spin-off from Fates Warning)? . Can anyone tell me about Redemption ? A good album to start with ? I have Fates Warning, already. Many Thanks :) .

Evolutionary Sleeper..... replied: "i have only one album by them..and i like it.. "The Fullness of Time" "

Rollover Mikey replied: "This is the latest from the Fates Warning OFFICIAL website: *9/26/08 Fates Warning announced as one of the Headliners for ProgPower USA X The organizers of ProgPower USA, a progressive and power metal festival held annually in the United States since 2001, have announced the lineup for next year's event: Friday (exact date to be announced): POWER QUEST TOMORROW'S EVE DIABLO SWING ORCHESTRA SABATON ROYAL HUNT ANDRÉ MATOS Saturday (exact date to be announced): CIRCUS MAXIMUS ORPHANED LAND PAGAN'S MIND BRAINSTORM FATES WARNING ProgPower USA began in 2001. The first festival was held in Lansing, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, at J.J. Kelley's. The subsequent events have been held in Atlanta, Georgia, at Earthlink Live (formerly and again Center Stage Atlanta). The festival has a wide reputation for high quality and a laid-back atmosphere. Band members frequently socialize with fans, and numerous artists have been known to attend even when not playing, including D.C. Cooper, Matt Smith of THEOCRACY, Jon Oliva of SAVATAGE fame, Lance King, members of EVERGREY, Dustin Mitchell and Curtis Morrell of KATAGORY V, Nick Van Dyke of REDEMPTION, and Urban Breed (BLOODBOUND, ex-TAD MOROSE). ProgPower USA continues to reach new fans and artists, because it is a great opportunity for both bands and fans. Many European bands have made their first (or only) North American appearances at the festival. Many fans who cannot (or do not) travel to see those bands in Europe have a unique opportunity to see them closer to home at ProgPower. * The post before that is as follows: 4/10/08 Perfect Symmetry Special Edition Promo A promo video for the upcoming Special Edition release of Perfect Symmetry is available for viewing online and will be added to the Media Section here shortly.
